Admittance: One Jungle Coin *

June 17 - Pounce on a pet! A visit from a local veterinarian
June 24- Where the Wild Things Are! We’ll hear that favorite story and make a “Wild Thing” mask
July 1 - Make tracks to the library and see what the McHenry County Conservation District has to show us
July 8 - Wild About Clay? Come join us and create something from clay
July 15 – Look what’s Swinging Your Way! The Woodstock Ballet Studio will show us some steps
July 22 – You’ll be Bear-ly able to stand the wonderful stories you’ll hear told by a local storyteller

* Summer Reading Club Members earn library jungle coins as they read or listen to books, magazines,
tapes, or CDs from the library’s collection. Readers and listeners keep track by
writing time read or listened in their reading log, which will be given to each child
during registration and taken home. Jungle coins are earned for each half hour
read
and can be used for admission to Wild World Programs on Tuesdays and
Wednesdays or to purchase prizes from the Safari Stand (library store).

Maggie Crane Retirement Reception Open to the Public

Scholastic Book Sale

“Christmas in July” Scholastic Book Sale to be held Thursday, July 9 through Wednesday July 15. For the eighth year, the staff of Woodstock Public Library will host a Scholastic Book Fair so they can achieve their goal of providing a new book as a present for every child on the Woodstock Christmas Clearing house List. 

The book fair will be held at the library during regular library hours and is open to the public. Customers can purchase books for themselves, and have the option to purchase books to donate to the Clearinghouse project,  or make a monetary donations. Christmas  Clearing House is a joint effort of many local organizations to ensure that low-income households have a happy holiday season.

Grand Finale @ Opera House

Gather at the Woodstock Opera House for the performance of “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” The performers in the Woodstock Youth Theater will entertain with this lively musical. Summer Reading Club Members earn tickets by reading. Family members may purchase tickets at the Woodstock Opera House

Ages: 3 years and up

Admission: By ticket earned through the Summer Reading Club. Vouchers will be given out at the library that can be taken to the Opera House for tickets. Check the website in July, or at the library, for the exact date when vouchers will be available.
